Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with other designers to create visually compelling animations.
- Creates and utilizes models from engineering and operations departments to develop visual equipment operation and engineering simulations.
- Visually translates complex tools and their operations.
- Produces a wide variety of visual information projects.
- Prepares initial 3D model (from CAD drawings/files) by constructing successive animations/layouts, including actions, changes, color patterns, and background to portray desired effect.
- Produces complex simulations based on engineering data and specifications.
- Produces desired effects by determining best-suited style and technique.
- Be able to produce consistent professional animations in timely manner and under tight deadlines when necessary.
- Performs such other duties as may be required.

Spiderwood Studios is a film studio with state of the art Sound
Stages, Production Facilities and diverse terrain Back Lot located on
the Colorado River just 25 minutes from downtown Austin and within 15
minutes of Bergstrom International Airport .
We’re looking for a talented and energetic 3d Modelers interested in
an intern/work-for-hire position here at our studio. The ideal
candidate is passionate about producing great work; enjoys working in
a fast-paced and high-energy environment. This would be great for
students, entry-level and any unemployed artists looking for portfolio
work. Upon completion of the project, modelers will be considered for
hire, for the next project. Great things are happening out here at
Spiderwood Studios so its a great opportunity to be apart of the
magic.
Responsibilities:
- The 3d Artist works closely with art directors , designers and dept
lead, in creating 3d model based assets.
Requirements:
- Must be located in the Greater Austin area. You can work remotely,
but we do require all candidates able to come out to the studios for
interviews/weekly meetings/etc.
- Ability to create 3d models from concept drawings and descriptive notes.
(**You can use any tool to create the model, preferred Autodesk suite
tool, but as long as the model can be exported to FBX or OBJ.)
